After a grueling 3-year process our family waited among a crowd of potential parents to hear our name called to officially adopt my brother. The moment the Judge walked over to congratulate our family, I was full of excitement and relief that we did not have to say goodbye anymore. At this time, my parents had been foster parents over the years for four infants prior to my brother. Each foster sibling made an impact on my life that I will never forget. My brother’s story demonstrates that love is the most powerful force, and that there is always hope.

Throughout my childhood, my compassion for others increased when I saw the challenges facing each child. As my compassion molded my passion, my mission to spread love and hope to children in the foster care system developed.

My brother’s life and so many other children will continue to be the reason why I aspire to make a positive impact through advocating for the voiceless and fighting for the forgotten. 

As a former NCAA college softball athlete, I have personally gained lessons and skillsets that have made me the woman I am today. Through sports, children can gain fundamental skills such as teamwork, leadership, perseverance, and confidence that will help them succeed in life. I combined my passion for sports and desire to spread hope to children by creating Foster Hope Sports Foundation.
